CCHS Doubles Advanced
Placement Scholars

Colquitt County High School achieved a
significant milestone in its Advanced Placement
(AP) Program for the 2024-2025 school year. The
total number of students recognized as AP
Scholars increased by 55% over the previous year,
with the overall passing rate reaching its highest in
a decade (62% of exams scored a 3 or higher).
CCHS also shattered its previous record by more
than doubling the number of AP Scholars to 65
students.
Impressive Gains in
AP Exam Performance
CCHS students excelled in several AP subjects,
with performance far exceeding both prior year
results and global averages:
Calculus AB scores were 17 percentage
points above the national average.
English Language and Composition saw a
25 percentage point increase over the
previous year.
English Literature scores were 11
percentage points above the national
average.
Pre-Calculus (offered for only two years)
saw a 7 percentage point increase and was
16 percentage points above the national
average.
Studio Art 2-D scores were 25 percentage
points higher than the prior year and 14
percentage points above the national
average.
AP Access and
Support School
This recognition is awarded to schools
where at least 30% of AP exams are
taken by students who identify as African
American and/or Hispanic, with a
minimum of 16 students. Additionally,
at least 30% of all AP exams must earn a
score of 3 or higher.
AP STEM School
Schools receiving this honor must
administer at least five AP exams in four
separate STEM courses (math, science,
and computer science), with a minimum
of 25 total exams administered.
AP STEM
Achievement School
This award is given to AP STEM
Schools (as defined above) where at least
50% of all AP STEM exams earn a score
of 3 or higher.
