The expertise of Colquitt County
Schools District’s dedicated staff was
spotlighted statewide when Georgia
Public Broadcasting and the Georgia
Department of Education featured two
district employees on the award-winning
Classroom Conversations podcast.
The podcast, known for providing a platform for educators to share
experiences, dedicated a February episode to Whole Child Supports.
District representatives shared key insights on Colquitt County's
collaborative approach to supporting students' health and learning
barriers.
Whole Child Specialist Ashley Pitts and Doerun Elementary Special
Education Teacher Emily McCracken were featured guests.
They discussed the district's effective strategies for implementing a
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework, ensuring
students are supported both academically and emotionally.
This feature underscored the district's role as a leader in educational
practices, offering valuable strategies to educators across Georgia and
affirming Colquitt County's commitment to the Whole Child model of
education.
